Looking for a Supervised Osteoporosis Exercise Program in Sydney?
Fitness Clinic's Exercise Physiologist-led 12-week program combines progressive resistance training, whole-body vibration therapy, impact loading and nutritional support, supervised in Five Dock and Campsie.
The science behind our program:
Twice-weekly PRT can improve bone mineral density by 1% and increase overall strength by 35–76%
Clinical studies show WBV therapy alone can improve bone mineral density by 3.5%
Appropriate high-impact loading exercises can improve bone mineral density by 2.9%
You've Done Your Research. Now Find the Right Program.
If you're here, you already know the key facts. You've probably been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia. Your GP may have mentioned that targeted, supervised exercise is one of the most effective tools available for slowing bone loss and reducing fracture risk. You may have looked into specific programs and read about the clinical evidence.
You don't need a lesson on what osteoporosis is. What you need is the right program, with the right professionals and equipment, close enough to attend consistently.
That's exactly what Fitness Clinic delivers.
Not All Osteoporosis Programs Are Equal
Here's what actually matters when choosing an osteoporosis exercise program, and how different approaches stack up:
| Feature | Online Home Programs | Generic Gym / PT | Fitness Clinic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supervised by Exercise Physiologist | |||
| Personalised to your DEXA scan | |||
| Progressive resistance training | Limited | ||
| Whole-Body Vibration Therapy | |||
| Low-to-medium impact loading | Rarely | ||
| Nutrition & supplement guidance | |||
| Balance & falls prevention | Limited | ||
| Coordination with your GP | |||
| Small supervised group classes | Sometimes |
Bone responds to mechanical load, but only when that load is applied correctly, progressively, and with appropriate supervision. This is why Exercise Physiologist-led programs consistently outperform the alternatives.
Why Your Program Needs an Exercise Physiologist, Not a Personal Trainer
Exercise Physiologists are university-trained Allied Health professionals with four-year degrees in clinical exercise for complex medical conditions, including osteoporosis. This is not a personal trainer with a weekend certification.
An EP understands how bone tissue responds to mechanical load, how to safely train a patient with vertebral fragility, how to interpret a DEXA scan, and how to coordinate your program with your GP or specialist.
At Fitness Clinic, every session in your osteoporosis program is led by a qualified Exercise Physiologist who:
- Reviews your bone density (DEXA) scan results before designing your program
- Monitors your form, load and progress every session
- Communicates directly with your GP or specialist
- Adjusts your program as your strength and bone density improve over time
A Complete Bone Health System, Not Just Exercise
Our 12-week program integrates six evidence-based components into every program:
Progressive Resistance Training
Slow, progressive weight training calibrated to your baseline strength. As your muscles get stronger, the mechanical pull on bone increases, the primary stimulus for bone remodelling and new bone formation.
Compound Movements
Multi-joint, full-body exercises that load the spine and major bone sites simultaneously. These are the movements that drive systemic bone adaptation, not isolation exercises.
Whole-Body Vibration Therapy
Our specialist vibration platforms send micro-pulses through the body, stimulating the cells responsible for building new bone. Clinical research shows up to 3.5% improvement in bone mineral density. Included in every program at no extra cost.
Low-to-Medium Impact Loading
Controlled impact exercises, including heel drops and progressive jumping sequences, create ground reaction forces that directly stimulate bone formation in the hip and spine. Underused by most programs. Central to ours.
Nutrition & Supplement Program
Our nutritionist works alongside your GP to create a personalised plan covering calcium, Vitamin D, protein intake, and any other factors specific to your situation.
Balance & Falls Prevention
Most osteoporosis fractures occur during falls. Every session includes targeted balance work that reduces your fracture risk, independent of your bone density results.

The Modality Most Osteoporosis Programs Don't Offer
Whole-Body Vibration Therapy is built into every program at Fitness Clinic.
Vibration therapy is one of the most underused tools in osteoporosis management, and one of the most compelling from an evidence standpoint. Our specialist platforms transmit controlled mechanical oscillations throughout the body, stimulating osteoblasts (bone-building cells) while also improving neuromuscular control and balance.
Clinical studies show Whole-Body Vibration Therapy can improve overall bone mineral density by up to 3.5%, and when combined with progressive resistance training, the effects are significantly greater.
Most exercise programs don't have this equipment. Ours does — and it's included in your program at no extra cost.
5 Steps to Getting Started
- 1
Step 1: Book Your Free Initial Assessment
Call us or fill in the form below. No obligation. Bring your most recent DEXA scan results if you have them, if not, that's fine too.
- 2
Step 2: We Review Your Bone Health Profile
Your Exercise Physiologist goes through your bone density results, medical history, current medications and any previous fractures. We explain what your results mean and what type of exercise is right for you.
- 3
Step 3: Your Personalised 12-Week Program Begins
We build your program around all six components, calibrated to your current strength and bone density. We coordinate with your GP where needed and accept GP referrals for potential Medicare rebates.
- 4
Step 4: Supervised Group Sessions, Minimum 2x Per Week
Train in small supervised group exercise physiology classes led by your EP throughout. You also receive a home program to complete between sessions. Loads are adjusted weekly as you progress.
- 5
Step 5: Review, Progress, and Continue
At 12 weeks we review your results and plan the next phase. Bone health is a long-term commitment, we'll be with you every step of the way.
